A French woman arrives in Japan in the disappointment of having just lost her beloved brother, arriving at a seaside village with a cliff famous for suicides. She meets a former policeman who has a heart for people that are suffering, and deters her from committing suicide. After spending time with others that are similarly hurt and with the people of the island, she slowly experiences a change of heart. Female Belgian director Vanja d’ Alcantara presents this sublimely heart-warming film of a novel by French novelist Olivier Adam.
